Meet Face to Face In A Local Area With Someone You Met Online

Meetup is one of the largest social networks of local groups or communities. People can meet face to face in their local areas after meeting online. You can search for groups in your town or area and join them without invitation. Some will require approval though. Search by common interests, such as books, politics, movies, health, pets, games, careers or hobbies.

It is a social network. You can follow people and in this way learn of more meetups relevant to you.

Meetup’s mission is to revitalize local communities and help people around the world self-organize. Meetup believes that people can change their personal world, or the whole world, by organizing themselves into groups that are powerful enough to make a difference.

Meetup has apps for iOS and anroid. People usually get updates this way but you can also get emails of a weekly “digest” which will show you all the meetups for groups you have joined.

Here’s a short video about Meetup. Enjoy!
