PageSpeed Online analyzes the performance of websites in terms of speed or how fast it loads content.
To use this tool, visit the main site at www.pagespeed.googlelabs.com and enter the url of the website you would like to check the speed. After analyzing the content of your site, Page Speed Online then provides suggestions on how to improve your site’s speed on all devices (desktop and mobile).
A score from 0 to 100 is given by PageSpeed. A website that gets a score of 85 means it is performing well.
The tool measures a website’s speed using two major factors:
Time to above-the-fold load which refers to the elapsed time from the moment a user requests a new page and to the time the above-the-fold content is rendered by the browser.
Time to full page load which means the elapsed time from the moment a user requests a new page to the time the page is fully rendered by the browser.
