Plivo is a cloud based API platform for building voice and SMS enabled applications enabling web developers to add quality voice calling and text messaging features to their websites or mobile apps.

This tool enables businesses to make and receive calls, send SMS, make a conference call, and more without the need for carrier lockin. This allows them to reach their customers in more than 200 countries worldwide.

Developers can also create Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) endpoints to perform the telephony operations. The APIs are platform independent and can be used in any programming environment such as PHP, Ruby, Python, etc. It also provides helper libraries for these programming languages.
