What is WeRead ?
weRead, formerly iRead, is an online community of book enthusiasts. weRead started out as a social cataloging application on Facebook in June 2007 and has since expanded to over 3.1 million active members across Facebook, MySpace, Orkut, Hi5, and Bebo.It make its fun club Apps page in facebook in 1 feb 2012.Now it become a popular apps in facebook.weRead’s Chuck a Book feature allows users to recommend books to their friends. On March 20, 2008, it launched Author’s Corner, a place to connect authors and their fans. On April 9th, 2008, weRead launched Read Inside that allows members to browse sections of many new titles and read entire books in electronic format through a partnership with Project Gutenberg. In 2010, Indian online retailer Flipkart acquired Weread.
We read also give award and certificates.The weRead Book Award was set up in 2008, with the generous sponsorship of the Brookwood Partnership and University College School, to encourage young people to discover the magic of reading. WeRead invites young readers to write reviews of a selection of books and to nominate their favourite author. Then, they invite the authors to meet the readers at a ‘Meet-the-Author’ day, at which the winning authors and reviewers are awarded prizes.
