YoruFukurou is a native Twitter client for Mac OS X with a simple user interface. You get dashboard views of incoming tweets, lists, and searches, split across multiple tabs.
With YoruFukurou, your Twitter messages or tweets are displayed in a vertical list. Each message shows the sender’s avatar (image); the time the message was sent and buttons to reply to the message or to mark the message as a favorite. Additionally, it features status indicators, including the read/unread status.
Another great feature of this tool is its tabs. The first tab is the main timeline, and to the right are tabs for mentions (messages including @yourusername), direct messages, and favorites. There’s also a Search tab that lets you search all of Twitter.
When you right click on a message, you will be shown additional options such as reply to all (if the original message was already a reply), send direct message, retweet, and retweet with comment.
It’s also easy to view the messages of a particular person. Simply click on a message from a certainperson, and all other messages from that person are instantly highlighted, making it easy to find them when scrolling through your message list.
This tool’s name YoruFukurou is a Japanese term that refers to night owl. It’s a free app that you can download from the Mac App Store.
